Witch Fancy Dress

Witchcraft in mythology, is the use of certain kinds of supernatural powers. A witch practices of witchcraft. While a witch costume is supernatural, people have been accused of witchcraft, or have claimed to be witches. Witches are usually women.

In early Europe history, witchcraft was seen as a diabolical conspiracy against Christians, and accusations of witchcraft led to big witch-hunts.

Witchcraft is normally a cultural ideology, for explaining human misfortune by blaming it on the supernatural. It is known, however, that many of the stereotypes surrounding witchcraft evolved out of more well meaning pre-Christian beliefs about spirits, and some of those accused of being witches were in fact healers rooted in these same beliefs. Witchcraft has also been applied to cultures outside Europe, holding similar ideologies of supernatural misfortune, as well as to describe a wide variety of magical and practices.

One festival kids love is Halloween. It is celebrated on the 31st of October and everyone dresses up differently to present some element of ghostly or creepiness. The tradition is a practice that passed down from generation to generation. The roots go back thousands of years. Ancient Celts believed that the boundary between the worlds of living and dead becomes blurred. They believed that ghosts of the dead came back to earth and people had to leave their homes after dark and dress up in eerie costumes so that ghosts would take them for fellow spirits, and leave them alone.

Dress                               
Your dress should be created from dark colors and look threadbare. The real witch has no time for comparison shopping. They are usually casting spells and making boiling potions for people they don't like.

An important clothing item is the hat. Black or purple are the norm. The hat can be of different shapes and design. There are those with artificial a spider-web and a spider crawling down. This tells of the home conditions the witch lives in and makes her appearance more revolting which is good for such a frightening character.

Another necessary "witching" accessory is a broom. You can't fly without this working tool. Every self respecting witch has to own one.The older the better.
